Beginner Traps
Lavos, Cyte, Arbucep, etc.
The issue with element cyclers like Lavos and Cyte is that they are just too inefficient. Cycling fast enough with 1 weapon to whatever shield elements arise is humanly impossible to warrant using it over options like Exodia Contagion.
Since Contagion has multiple elements and can do DoT(damage over time), it can kill multiple elements in a single instance of a projectile.
Arbucep is another noob bait. While it has multiple elements, that's not what we want or need for Profit-Taker legs since they are only weak to magnetic, if you for some reason wanted to Arbucep the shields, it has extremely low damage partly due to how its designed and how AoE weapons work in PT.
Corvas Prime
Despite being a prime weapon, we recommend the base version for a myriad of reasons. Corvas Prime's main issue is the fact that the Profit-Taker is coded in a way where if one projectile hits an invulnerable part of PT first, every other damage instance will be null.
The projectile is also slower, and the riven disposition of Corvas Prime is far worse than the base version.
Chroma Effigy
You might have seen some clickbaity YouTube video where they talk about Chroma's effigy having a "x%" chance to trigger double credits; this is completely false.
In truth, Chroma's effigy will ALWAYS trigger the boost, provided you are 10m near it when picking up the credits. It also has to be near where the credits drop.
Pylons with Crits and Faction Damage
Contrary to somewhat popular belief, pylons and objects in general cannot be crit and do not have a faction, thus they cannot take ANY faction damage, even universal (e.g. Roar and Damage Bless).
Basic Principles
Even if you just want to copy a build and be on your way, it’s important to understand why the builds are the way they are. Knowing how your build works makes you more effective with it and allows you to tinker with it to suit your preference or to account for a lack of gear.
Chroma
Builds for Chroma running Shock Trooper.
